United States of Europe Now! #UniteEurope
Across the globe, fascists, imperialists and tech overlords are on the rise. Xi wants to lead an autocratic world order, Putin wants to dominate Europe, and Trump only wants what's best for Trump.
Something’s not working. While autocrats rise and the world edges towards chaos, Europe still struggles to take bold action. We’re stuck between climate, poverty, migration, and a war right next door. And while crises grow, our leaders manage symptoms instead of offering a vision.
We’re tired of waiting. That’s why we’re marching from Platz der Enheit to Willybrandplatz. We need a Union that acts and that leads. And nine out of ten Europeans agree: they want a more united Europe.
To be strong enough to deliver on the huge challenges we face, Europe needs to become more like a country: a Federal Europe, a United States of Europe!
Join us for this special march on Saturday 22 November from 16.00 to 17.30pm from Platz der Einheit!
Some practical rules that you have to follow:
Route: Platz der Einheit (Warm-Up) - Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage - Platz der Republik - Düsseldorfer Straße - Am Hauptbahnhof - Münchener Straße - Willy-Brandt-Platz / Gallusanlage (Grünfläche, Final destination and speeches)
Bring warm clothes (as it will be cold): wear purple clothes, scarves, gloves, ear muffs, coats, lipstick, earrings, necklaces, contact lenses.
Don’t worry, you can still smoke cigarettes, but the burning or incineration of objects of any kind is prohibited. You also don’t need to carry fireworks, or pyrotechnic products, as our march will be visible enough!
No painting or stickers allowed. Don’t worry we’ll be purple enough with 1600 people marching.
Dogs, especially dangerous dogs (§ 2 Hessian Dog Ordinance), are prohibited during the gathering, even if they’re super cute. This does not apply to trained assistance dogs, whose necessity and assignment to a participating person must be specifically verifiable.
Flags, banners, and placards may only be attached to poles with a maximum length of 2 m. I know you’ll be surprised, but this also applies to the Volt flag. The poles must be made of softwood or plastic and the diameter of the poles must not exceed 2 cm.
Drones are not permitted, but Polaroids are highly encouraged.
Medics will be present.
For the stewards: at least 40 Stewards are required - Ratio 1:25. Meetup at 3:15am in front of KASaP Europa to walk over to Platz der Einheit.
It is important to have a passport / ID-card, to speak German and be above 18.
PS. Don’t forget to take lots of pictures and post on social media using the #UniteEurope
