DOmocracy - Volt Academy training
A training on how to "do democracy" in practive by the Volt Academy Team.
The sessions:
1. Feb 18th, 20:00 - 21:30 How democratic are we, really?
Practicing democracy is demanding. We start by reflecting on our own behaviour, using a democratic compass that includes courage, responsibility and conflict. In the first session, we will form Do-mocracy peer circles: small peer groups to stay connected, exchange experiences, and support each other in practicing democracy every day.
2. May 20th, 20:00-21:30 Connecting through attention
Listening, presence and structure as democratic skills. A practice-based session on attention, outreach and canvassing as relationship-building.Host: Marijn Damsma and Marcel van Mackelenburg
3. August 26, 20:00-21:30 Holding space for disagreement
Speaking up, setting and holding boundaries, and calling things out without breaking connection. A skill-building session on constructive conflict.
4. November 25th, 20:00-21:30 Being influential without being in power
In which ways can we have impact without authority or mandate? The power of a question. Inspirational examples.Missed the first sessions?
