The role of the European Parliament must change from merely co-deciding laws to initiating new legislation - a power that would be shared with the Senate, the EU Citizens via the European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) and the European Government. New laws will be proposed by a political group or an equivalent minimum number of individual MEPs that would be required to form a political group.
Volt has defined 5+1 fundamental Challenges that need to be tackled in each European country and in Europe as a whole.

The 5 Challenges are basically the same for every country, but their implementation can be adapted on the national level to take into account local realities.
