Video Editor (f/m/d)

Are you passionate about using video to enhance internal learning and employee development? Do you understand how high-quality video content improves knowledge retention and organizational alignment? Can you translate complex HR processes and educational concepts into clear, engaging training materials? Join Volt Europa as a Video Editor for the HR Creators Team. This role focuses exclusively on producing internal training and onboarding content to support our teams across Europe; it is not a role for external political campaigning or public-facing social media.

Do you want to contribute to Europe's future?

Volt stands for a united and federal Europe, where everyone has equal opportunities to fulfil their unique potential. We strive to achieve the highest human, environmental, social, and technological development together. We are a pan-European political movement with 200 elected representatives across Europe, including 5 members of the European Parliament, over 30,000 members and hundreds of volunteers who work hard to make our vision a reality.

Volt is an inclusive movement that wants to provide space for everyone to thrive. We believe the power of diversity achieves better results for our society at large. We can only be the inclusive political movement we aspire to be, if we represent different voices and perspectives in our society. Your skin colour, gender identity, disabilities, sexual orientation or religious belief do not matter. You are welcome in our organisation, and we want to work together with you to create a better Europe for everyone.

What will you do?

As Video Editor for the HR Creators Team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality instructional and onboarding content. You will:

  • Produce Internal Training Content: Edit video tutorials, onboarding modules, and internal webinars to ensure clear knowledge transfer for volunteers and staff across Europe.

  • Translate HR Workflows into Visuals: Convert complex internal processes, digital tool guides, and organizational policies into easy-to-follow video guides.

  • Standardize Internal Aesthetics: Ensure all internal training videos follow Volt Europa’s brand guidelines while prioritizing legibility, clear audio, and instructional flow.

  • Optimize for Learning: Focus on pacing, clear titling, and structured sequencing to improve information retention for internal audiences.

  • Collaborate with HR Leads: Work closely with the HR team to identify content gaps and create visual solutions for internal pain points.

What skills do you need to excel in this role?

  • Instructional Editing: You understand how to use video to teach. You prioritize clarity and logic over "viral" or "cinematic" storytelling.

  • Technical Proficiency: You are expert in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent software, including audio clean-up and clear captioning.

  • Information Architecture: You can take a raw screen recording or interview and structure it into a logical, step-by-step tutorial.

  • Attention to Detail: You ensure that technical terms and organizational workflows are represented accurately without errors.

  • Structured Working Style: You manage assets and timelines effectively to meet internal training deadlines.

What requirements do we ask for this role?

  • Professional Experience: 1–2 years of experience in video editing, ideally with a focus on educational content, corporate training, or "how-to" tutorials.

  • Software Skills: Mastery of non-linear editors (NLEs) and familiarity with screen-capture software. Knowledge of motion graphics for instructional call-outs is a plus.

  • Portfolio: A portfolio demonstrating your ability to explain complex topics or processes through video.

  • Availability: Minimum 4 hours per week. This role requires steady output to match internal onboarding cycles, not political campaign peaks. Work can be done anywhere and it is mostly async, with meetings to be scheduled on a needs-basis.

Nice to have

  • Instructional Design Knowledge: Familiarity with how people learn from video (e.g., Mayer’s Principles of Multimedia Learning).

  • E-Learning Platform Experience: Understanding how video integrates into Learning Management Systems (LMS).

  • Technical Writing: Ability to assist in drafting scripts for tutorials to ensure concise communication.

What do we offer?

  • Competitive salary for the non-profit sector

  • 30 days of holiday per contract year, in addition to public holidays

  • A dynamic environment where no day is the same and no challenge is too big for you and your colleagues

  • A flexible, remote work environment where you will collaborate with passionate, like-minded individuals from across Europe

  • Short decision-making processes, flat hierarchies and lots of room to implement your ideas

  • The opportunity to shape Volt’s communications strategy and have a real impact on European society and politics
