What strategy would you implement to recruit and retain highly specialised volunteers for the functional teams, for example in communications, policy, or data, over a full Board term?
It is paramount that volunteers feel both useful and appreciated. When assigning projects, they should lead to tangible results. When volunteers make a big impact on our political movement, it is a small thing to use a small piece of the overall budget to celebrate them.
As a political organisation we should make sure to provide our volunteers with learning opportunities to further their own goals in life.
Non-executive Board members must both support and challenge the executives. Describe a situation where you would publicly back the Co-Presidents, and one where you would publicly dissent. What guides your choice?
I would challenge any Co-President publicly making statements that clearly 100% go against official Volt political postitioing, policy or core values. How we identity ourselves as a movement on the public change is very important in politics and it should be known.
If the Co-Presidents are inclined to make a statement that does not have a broader political positioning or policy, I would be inclined to back their statement as long as it is in line with our core values.
What would you do if you believed the Board was making a decision that conflicted with Volt Europa's core values?
Unfortunately, I have been in this situation twice before First, conversations with the people involved. If that does not prove fruitful, any board does not stand above the intergrity council and as such I would write a report to them for further investigation.
If timely action will not be taken by the integrity council (which unfortuntely happens too often), I could be inclined to move for a vote of no-confidence procedure permitting.
