Vacancy Team Member
Do you want to contribute to Europe's future?
Volt stands for a united and federal Europe, where everyone has equal opportunities to fulfil their unique potential. We strive to achieve the highest human, environmental, social, and technological development together. We are a pan-European political movement with 200 elected representatives across Europe, including 5 members of the European Parliament, over 30,000 members and hundreds of volunteers who work hard to make our vision a reality.
Volt is an inclusive movement that wants to provide space for everyone to thrive. We believe the power of diversity achieves better results for our society at large. We can only be the inclusive political movement we aspire to be, if we represent different voices and perspectives in our society. Your skin colour, gender identity, disabilities, sexual orientation or religious belief do not matter. You are welcome in our organisation, and we want to work together with you to create a better Europe for everyone.
What will you do?
As a Vacancy Team Member, you’ll manage new Vacancy Requests and help Hiring Managers all across Volt Europa to draft, publish and maintain their Vacancies.
Specifically you will:
Post Jobs: Look at new job requests within 48 hours. Either draft an Application Form and post it on the website, or tell the Hiring Manager what needs to change.
Keep Records: Update the main Vacancy Inventory spreadsheet so all open and closed jobs are listed correctly.
Communicate: Liaise with Hiring Managers to solve issues about Vacancies and advise them on how to improve their recruitment process.
Find More People: Put job ads on other websites (like Idealist or LinkedIn) to get more applicants.
What skills do you need to excel in this role?
Research shows that (oftentimes) female candidates only apply when they meet 100% of the requirements, while male candidates do so when they meet just 60%. We explicitly encourage everyone to apply: you don’t have to tick every box to apply. We also consider your potential and motivation!
Organisational skills: You can keep track of volunteers, forms, and tasks across different teams and tools without losing focus.
Communication: You communicate clearly and kindly, both in writing and in chats, with volunteers from many backgrounds and countries.
Proactivity: You take initiative, follow up when needed, and spot opportunities to improve how volunteers are activated and integrated.
Adaptability: You’re flexible and comfortable in a fast-changing, fully remote volunteer environment.
What requirements do we ask for this role?
You must be currently a member of Volt Europa to be considered for the position.
We require a commitment to volunteer 1-2 hours per week. Workload is minimal and work can be done anywhere (fully remote) and at your preferred time (fully async) but it requires checking your email inbox every day and reacting to new Vacancy Requests within 48 hours.
What do we offer?
A welcoming, pan-European community where you’ll work with passionate volunteers from across the continent.
The chance to help shape how new members find their place and thrive within Volt Europa.
A flexible, fully remote environment, you choose when and how to contribute.
Meaningful experience in volunteer coordination and team-building across cultures.
Support from an open, collaborative team that values initiative, ideas, and empathy.
The opportunity to make a direct impact on growing and strengthening Volt’s European network.
