Program Manager, EUR Academy (f/m/d)

Are you passionate about education and building the next generation of Volt leaders and candidates`? Are you experienced in running structured programs and coordinating teams of volunteers? Do you know Volt from the inside, already understand how the movement operates, and want to help shape one of EUR Academy's most ambitious training initiatives yet? Then apply now to join Volt Europa as our Program Manager for EUR Academy!

Do you want to contribute to Europe's future?

Volt stands for a united and federal Europe, where everyone has equal opportunities to fulfil their unique potential. We strive to achieve the highest human, environmental, social, and technological development together. We are a pan-European political movement with 200 elected representatives across Europe - we want to reach 400 elected officials by 2029 -including 5 members of the European Parliament, over 30,000 members and hundreds of volunteers who work hard to make our vision a reality.

Volt is an inclusive movement that wants to provide space for everyone to thrive. We believe the power of diversity achieves better results for our society at large. Your skin colour, gender identity, disabilities, sexual orientation or religious belief do not matter. You are welcome in our organisation, and we want to work together with you to create a better Europe for everyone.

What will you do?

As Program Manager, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of a new, structured training programme that the EUR Academy Board is preparing to launch in the coming months. You will:

  • Own the programme's project plan: Build and manage the timeline, workstreams, milestones and resourcing needed to take the programme from concept to delivery.

  • Coordinate contributors and volunteers: Work with the volunteers and subject-matter experts building the curriculum, keeping everyone aligned and on track.

  • Act as the main point of contact between the EUR Academy Board and the working teams: Translate the Board's vision into a concrete, running programme, and keep stakeholders updated on progress.

  • Manage risks and blockers: Flag issues early and propose solutions so the programme stays on schedule.

  • Coordinate with other teams: Liaise with HR, national chapters and other relevant teams to ensure the programme fits into Volt's existing structures.

  • Support the programme's launch: Help plan communication and rollout so the training reaches the right audience within Volt.

What skills do you need to excel in this role?

Research shows that (oftentimes) female candidates only apply when they meet 100% of the requirements, while male candidates do so when they meet just 60%. We explicitly encourage everyone to apply: you don't have to tick every box to apply. We also consider your potential and motivation!

  • Project/Program management expertise: You have experience handling multi-step projects with multiple workstreams and delivering results on time, including in volunteer or informal settings.

  • Strong organisational skills: You're comfortable managing several moving parts and stakeholders at once, and can keep a project on track even as details evolve.

  • Stakeholder management: You are open and approachable, and can coordinate volunteers and teams across time zones and areas of the movement.

  • Independent, proactive & flexible: As we work remotely, you're a self-starter who takes initiative and works effectively with little supervision, comfortable working with a degree of ambiguity while the programme is still being shaped.

  • Time/Work commitment: You should be able to commit 5-10 hours per week remotely/async  and respect the deadlines of your future tasks.

What requirements do we ask for this role?

  • Volt experience: You are an active member of Volt, already familiar with how the movement is structured and how to get things done within it. This is an internal role, and this familiarity is essential.

  • Program/project experience: Some experience managing projects or programmes, formal or informal — movement and volunteer experience counts. Familiarity with project management tools like Asana, Trello, Microsoft Project etc are greatly valued.

Nice to have

  • Interest in education or training: You're motivated by helping members and volunteers grow, and enjoy building learning experiences.

  • Experience with EUR Academy or similar initiatives: Prior involvement with Academy activities or other training/onboarding efforts within Volt.

What do we offer?

  • A dynamic environment where no day is the same and no challenge is too big for you and your colleagues

  • A flexible, remote work environment where you will collaborate with passionate, like-minded volunteers from across Europe

  • Short decision-making processes, flat hierarchies and lots of room to implement your ideas

  • The opportunity to shape a flagship EUR Academy training initiative from the ground up, and have a real impact on how Volt trains and grows its people
