What strategy would you implement to recruit and retain highly specialised volunteers for the functional teams, for example in communications, policy, or data, over a full Board term?

For recruitment, I would publish and promote vacancies both inside and outside Volt, for example using the website and media. This because I think that outside Volt, there might be many talented people who would be interested in Volt, but wouldn’t know what to do with party membership. A fitting opportunity might be the push they need.
For retaining volunteers, I would like to make sure they can see the difference their work is making, and also have them feel they are gaining something as well, like a supportive community and social activities with the other volunteers.

Non-executive Board members must both support and challenge the executives. Describe a situation where you would publicly back the Co-Presidents, and one where you would publicly dissent. What guides your choice?

I would always publically back the co-presidents around decisions made by a majority of the board and/or that are voted in by the GA, as long as they are in line with Volt’s statutes/regulations and values. Even if I would personally disagree, those are collective decisions by Volt, and it would be my duty to back them.
I would publicly dissent if the co-presidents made a decision that is against the majority of the board, an official GA decision, and/or the statutes/regulations and values of Volt. However, I would never want to dissent alone, since my perspective could always be wrong: I would always want to deliberate with other board members and stakeholders who share my concerns on what steps to take.

What would you do if you believed the Board was making a decision that conflicted with Volt Europa's core values?

See my answer to the previous question: instead of acting alone, I would see if there are fellow board members and stakeholders with similar concerns, and together deliberate on further steps and statements, including the possibility of public dissent. An exception, however, is if said Board decision was based on an official decision by the GA: GA decisions are to be respected, no matter what I personally think.
