MEP Markéta Gregorová announces close cooperation with the 5 Member Volt delegation in the European Parliament
27. 6. 2024 Brussels - MEP Markéta Gregorová confirmed yesterday that she will remain in the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament announcing that she will work closely with the 5-member Volt delegation. This link will strengthen the pan-European character and the ambitions of both Volt and the Pirates to build a more progressive Europe.
While her choice was primarily motivated by the Committees she will be able to work in as part of the Greens/EFA Group, the possibility to closely collaborate with the transnational delegation of Volt played an important role.
The collaboration with Volt from within the Greens will result in "a strong position to influence what legislation we get or what priorities the faction sets," Markéta said in a statement on social media.
“Over the last five years, we have been working closely with Markéta on many issues, in particular on our most important priority to reform the EU, where we pursue the same goal to make the EU work better for her citizens”, says Damian Boeselager, Volt MEP.
Markéta's decision to join forces was welcomed by Volt Europa co-chair Francesca Romana d'Antuono and Volt Czech Republic chair Adam Hanka: “We are very much looking forward to a successful future collaboration with Volt in Brussels, Prague and the rest of Europe.”
