EUR General Assembly Co-Coordinator (male/diverse)

One of the many things that distinguishes Volt from traditional politics, is that we are a movement, not a party. A movement is a community of individuals with a shared passion and a wealth of different experiences and perspectives.

As co-coordinator of Volt Europa’s General Assemblies (GAs), you will have the opportunity to organise festive gatherings to strengthen this community, with the added benefit of shaping the future of European society in doing so ! By working on the November 2023 GA (and following ones !) you will create enthusiasm in the run-up to the June 2024 European elections, thereby largely contributing to Volt’s upcoming electoral success.

The position

Our EUR General Assembly Co-Coordinators are jointly responsible for managing the planning and execution of large scale European General Assemblies by providing the necessary guidance and support from the European level. In addition to your fellow co-coordinator, you will work closely with the European General Secretaries’ Office, the Events co-leads, and the GA host chapters in this role.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Consolidating and managing an independent team of ~10 volunteers responsible for the delivery of EUR GAs

  • Meeting established milestones and proactively working towards reaching these

  • Developing and taking ownership of a project plan for upcoming GAs

  • Proactively liaising and collaborating with the host chapter(s)

  • Regularly communicating with and reporting to the EUR Events co-leads

  • Professionalising the GA organisation process by, amongst others, identifying learnings from previous GAs and documenting the work conducted

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • High motivation to work for the European level

  • Sharp organisational skills to lead volunteers, maintain existing structures, and manage a varied portfolio of tasks

  • An awareness of inclusion issues (particularly accessibility and diversity) to create events for all Volters

  • Intercultural communication skills to keep relevant teams up to date and enhance collaboration

  • Team-oriented leadership skills

  • Pragmatic and problem-solving attitude

  • A spirit of entrepreneurship and initiative

Assets:

  • Event organisation or project management experience

  • Team management experience

  • Experience within Volt

Practical information

Start date: 01.07.2023 (negotiable).

Workload: 5-15 hrs per week (depending on the time of year and upcoming events).

Compensation: Volt Europa is a volunteer movement with limited resources, that for now, cannot provide compensation. Whenever travelling is required, expenses will be reimbursed.

Location: No particular location is required. You will mainly work from the location of your choice.

Reporting to: Sami Jaber and / or Kim Roskam, Events Co-Leads of Volt Europa.

Champion General Assembly (f/d/m)

The Champion General Assembly (f/d/m) is part of the EUR Events Team and supports the preparation of the General Assemblies.

Meet Volt Europa Organiser (f/d/m)

The Meet Volt Europa Organiser (f/d/m) is part of the MVE Team and contributes to the organisation of the monthly event (22nd of a month) on discord to inspire people to join Volt, establish networks across Europe, share knowledge, present ideas, and encourage debates.

The Position:

The Meet Volt Europa Organiser (f/d/m) is part of the MVE Team and contributes to the organisation of the monthly event (22nd of a month) on discord to inspire people to join Volt, establish networks across Europe, share knowledge, present ideas, and encourage debates.

You will: 

Coordinate/Support the organisation of the monthly Event

Take over tasks that you are passionate about (Think about current topics and create a program, find and approach interesting speakers, onboard speakers, coordinate the individual tasks, recruit more MVE Organisers)

You are:

  • Passionate about supporting the Meet Volt Europa Events and willing to provide a helping hand

  • Passionate about driving the Pan-European collaboration 

  • Passionate about either coordinating a regular event or supporting it in your desired way

Co-Coordinator Pan-European Action (female / male / diverse)

Our Co-Coordinators Pan-European Action are responsible for coordinating, organizing, and implementing regular physical Pan-European actions that take place in different chapter at the same time. 

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Building up and sustaining an independent and sustainable Event team for the Pan-European Actions

  • Building and keeping sustainable relationships with affected stakeholders (e.g., Other functional teams, Chapter leads)

  • Creating and taking ownership of a project plan

  • Taking responsibility for meeting set milestones and working on all necessary tasks

  • Communicating with and reporting regularly to the EUR Events team

  • Documenting the work and learnings while summarizing and keeping all information together to professionalize the process 

  • Team management & development

Experience and Skills

We seek someone who has a high motivation to work for the European team. To ensure efficient collaboration with the different people involved, you must be an organizational talent that is able to work efficiently and think pragmatic and practical. It would be of great benefit if you already have experience in organizing events for example within a local or national team and even more so in an international setting. 

  • High motivational level to work for the European Level

  • Organizational talent, maintaining structures, practical thinking

  • Must: Ability to communicate and keep everyone up to date

  • Ideally experience in organizing events

  • Languages: ideally multiple languages

Requirements

Must have:

  • Organizational skills: maintaining structures and coordinating multiple teams

The Supporter Pan-European Action (f/d/m) is part of the Pan-European Action Team, which is a subgroup of the EUR Events Team, and is responsible for supporting the coordination, organization, and implementation of physical Pan-European actions that take place in different chapter at the same time.

You will: 

  • Support continuously the Pan-European Action Team with the preparation of these actions
