Are you a problem-solver with a knack for clear communication and a passion for supporting others? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment, helping people navigate technical challenges and effectively use communication tools? If you're ready to contribute to a pan-European political movement by ensuring our volunteers and members have the support they need, then apply now to join Volt Europa as a Volunteer Helpdesk Agent!

Do you want to contribute to Europe's future?

Volt stands for a united and federal Europe, where everyone has equal opportunities to fulfil their unique potential. We strive to achieve the highest human, environmental, social, and technological development together. We are a pan-European political movement with 200 elected representatives across Europe, including 5 members of the European Parliament, over 30,000 members and hundreds of volunteers who work hard to make our vision a reality.

Volt is an inclusive movement that wants to provide space for everyone to thrive. We believe the power of diversity achieves better results for our society at large. We can only be the inclusive political movement we aspire to be, if we represent different voices and perspectives in our society. Your skin colour, gender identity, disabilities, sexual orientation or religious belief do not matter. You are welcome in our organisation and we want to work together with you to create a better Europe for everyone. The team is highly interested in expanding with female and diverse members, but we explicitly encourage everyone to apply.

What will you do?

As a Helpdesk Agent, you will be a crucial first point of contact for Volt Europa's volunteers and members, providing essential support across technical and communication platforms. You will:

  • Administer Meta Business Suite: Manage and administer Volt Europa's Meta Business Suite, ensuring smooth operation of our social media presence.

  • Support Comms Teams: Provide direct support to Communications teams from local to European level regarding their Instagram and Facebook accounts, offering guidance and troubleshooting.

  • Support on Haiilo: Specifically assist members in mastering our new internal cooperation platform, Haiilo.

  • Categorize incoming reports: Accurately categorize incoming support requests into individual support needs, bug reports, and feature requests.

  • Triage reports: Assess and prioritize incoming reports based on urgency and severity.

  • Escalate complex problems: Identify and escalate more complex or persistent issues to relevant technical teams or communication specialists when necessary.

  • Document solutions: Create and maintain a knowledge base of frequently asked questions, common issues, and step-by-step solutions to empower self-service.

  • Maintain communication channels: Monitor and manage incoming requests across various support channels, ensuring timely and professional responses.

What skills do you need to excel in this role?

Research shows that (oftentimes) female candidates only apply when they meet 100% of the requirements, while male candidates do so when they meet just 60%. We explicitly encourage everyone to apply: you don’t have to tick every box to apply. We also consider your potential and motivation!

  • A Calling to Help Users: You possess a genuine desire to assist others, coupled with patience and empathy towards their needs.

  • Excellent communication skills: You can explain complex information clearly and patiently, both verbally and in writing, to users with varying technical proficiencies.

  • Problem-solving aptitude: You have a logical approach to identifying issues, analyzing symptoms, and finding effective solutions.

  • Organizational skills: You can manage multiple inquiries simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records of interactions.

  • Adaptability: You are comfortable learning new tools and technologies quickly and can adapt to evolving support needs.

What requirements do we ask for this role?

  • Proficiency in English: Strong command of the English language is required. Proficiency in additional European languages is a strong asset.

  • Legal Membership: You must be a legal member of Volt Europa.

  • Time Commitment: You can commit some time regularly, with the flexibility to adapt working hours to fit your life.

  • Technical aptitude: Basic familiarity with common software applications and online collaboration tools is helpful, but you do not need special tech skills as we can easily teach you the basics, and you can learn along the way.

What do we offer?

  • A dynamic environment where no day is the same and no challenge is too big for you and your colleagues.

  • A flexible, remote work environment where you will collaborate with passionate, like-minded individuals from across Europe.

  • Valuable experience in a fast-paced international political organization, ideal for professional development and networking.
