Dutch Local Assistant for Volt in the European Parliament
The Volt delegation in the European Parliament (EP) is looking for a local assistant to set up a local office in the Netherlands for our two Dutch MEPs, Anna and Reinier. Your goal will be to organise their engagement with citizens not only in the Netherlands, but across Europe, promote our work in the EP as well as coordinate constituency visits, host townhalls and organise community projects. The objective is to bring European politics closer to the Europeans and bring Europeans closer to European politics.
As a local assistant, you will create an engagement strategy together with the team in the EP on relevant societal, economic and political topics ranging from modernising agriculture to building a European army and boosting innovation in Europe. You will be engaging with a variety of stakeholders from NGOs, industries, universities, other political parties and above all Europeans to make this new office a success.
You will work for the Volt European Parliament delegation in Brussels but will be based in the Netherlands, primarily in The Hague. You can partly work from home and will have a dedicated workspace at the Volt Netherlands office.
What will you do:
Develop a strategy for the local office: You will be responsible for developing a strategy for maximising our MEPs’ exchange with local, regional and national stakeholders (politicians, media, NGOs, etc.) as well as developing coherent engagement campaigns.
Organise and execute events: You will conceptualise and arrange events across the Netherlands, such as panel discussions, interactive sessions, debates, and workshops and will be responsible for the smooth running of these events.
Organise field trips: Plan and coordinate field visits for Anna and Reinier
Communication and visibility: Ensure everyone knows about the events. Also, maintain contact with local media to enhance visibility.
Evaluation and improvement: Reflect on success of the campaigns, the events as well as field trips and incorporate improvements into future editions.
Citizen Engagement & Feedback Mechanisms: set up and manage feedback channels (e.g., surveys, suggestion boxes, and online forums) to capture constituent concerns and opinions.
