European Onboarding Coordinator (f/d)
Are you passionate about creating a truly European community?
Do you get energised by looking beyond national borders and fostering conversation across Europe?
Do you have what it takes to make new community members feel welcome in a pan-European community?
Then you are invited to apply! It does not matter what the colour of your skin is, which gender you identify with, whether you have a disability, who you love, what you believe in. We believe the power of diversity achieves better results for our society at large. We can only be the inclusive political movement we aspire to be, if we represent different voices and perspectives in our society.
Do you want to contribute to Europe's future?
Volt stands for a united and federal Europe, where everyone has equal opportunities to fulfil their unique potential. We strive to achieve the highest human, environmental, social, and technological development together. We are a pan-European political movement with more than 110 elected representatives across Europe and thousands of members and volunteers.
The vision of the EUR Community Team is “to build a European society of dignity, equality and fairness by guiding our community members to yearn to fulfil their vast potential and contribute it towards our shared future”. One of our tasks to make this possible is to empower both teams and individuals to get together and engage in cross-cultural and trans-national dialogue.
What will you do?
The task of the EUR Community team is to connect our members across Europe and inspire them to work on our shared future together. Together with a team, you will be primarily responsible for our monthly Meet Volt Europa meetings. These meetings take place on Zoom and have two main goals: 1) welcoming new Volt members to the European level and introducing them to the full pan-European organisation and community; 2) offering existing Volt members a monthly event with space for quizzes, political debates, and Q&A’s with volunteers.
The Meet Volt Europa programme has had two runs in the past, and we are looking for someone to take the lead on revitalising this again. We have already collected the previous do’s and don'ts to provide the coordinator of this role with a basis from which to build.
However, you are invited to initiate your own projects in addition to this!
What skills do you need to excel in this role?
Research shows that (oftentimes) female candidates only apply when they meet 100% of the requirements, while male candidates do so when they meet just 60%. We explicitly encourage everyone to apply: you don’t have to tick every box to apply. We also consider your potential and motivation!
A suitable candidate:
Has a proactive personality to reach out to people and communicate the value of harmonised approaches across Europe and leading the relevant initiatives;
Has community organising skills, the ability to keep a clear overview of what is happening and what needs to be done amidst a multifaceted environment;
Takes responsibility and assuming decisions based on inclusive community standards;
Is a good communicator, including being a good listener;
Actively works to include fairness, inclusions and integrity in everyday work.
What requirements do we ask for this role
Proven interest in transnational events, initiatives, or organisations
Adequate level of English language skills
Nice to have:
Experience within the Volt community
Experience with community building and/or facilitating community building events
Experience with international work (in HR settings)
Please note that we encourage everyone to apply, even if you are not certain you meet all the requirements! We also consider your potential and motivation!
What we offer you!
A majority of the work will be remote, you will meet and work with like-minded people that represent the richness of Europe’s people.
You contribute to shaping Volt's success in Europe, will grow with our party and movement, and can have a positive impact on European society.
You will be working closely with dedicated and inspiring people from the European, national and local teams.
You have the freedom to develop your own projects and shape Volt in a meaningful way.
You get hands-on experience in a growing movement and political party shaping the future of Europe.
