SPARK Strategy & Partnerships Coordinator (f/m/d)

Do you enjoy turning complex ideas into clear strategies and compelling presentations? Do you want to help build a pan-European network of influential political, institutional and academic figures from the ground up? Are you proactive, strategic and someone people trust with sensitive information?

You are invited to apply! It does not matter what the colour of your skin is, which gender you identify with, whether you have a disability, who you love, or what you believe in. We believe the power of diversity achieves better results for our society at large. We can only be the inclusive political movement we aspire to be if we represent different voices and perspectives in our society.

Do you want to contribute to Europe's future?

Volt stands for a united and federal Europe, where everyone has equal opportunities to fulfill their unique potential. We strive to achieve the highest human, environmental, social, and technological development together. We are a pan-European political movement with 360 elected representatives across Europe, including 5 members of the European Parliament, over 30,000 members and hundreds of volunteers who work hard to make our vision a reality.

What is SPARK?

SPARK is Volt Europa's network for high-profile and influential individuals who share our vision of a united, progressive Europe and want to engage beyond traditional party membership.

It is a network that connects political figures, institutional leaders, academics, civil society representatives and other influential voices across Europe. Members contribute their expertise, networks, experience and visibility to help strengthen Volt's political influence, reach and positive societal impact.

Purpose of the position

SPARK is at the start of its journey. We are laying the foundations for a pan-European network of influential figures, and this is the moment to shape how it looks, works and grows.

As SPARK Strategy & Partnerships Coordinator, you will work directly with the SPARK Lead as a strategic right hand and co-builder: shaping ideas into clear strategy and materials, setting up the structures SPARK needs, and helping it grow, including the team around it and related programmes such as mentoring.

What will you do?

As SPARK Strategy & Partnerships Coordinator, you will:

  • Act as a sparring partner and right hand to the SPARK Lead, helping to shape and drive SPARK’s strategy;

  • Create pitch decks and other materials that bring SPARK to life for members, partners and decision-makers;

  • Brainstorm and help set up SPARK’s team structure and support its expansion;

  • Lay the groundwork for related programmes, such as a mentoring programme;

  • Build and maintain the tools and overviews SPARK runs on, and support its relationships and partnerships;

  • Keep priorities, deadlines and open questions organised so the work keeps moving;

  • Handle confidential information with discretion and in line with data protection rules.

What skills do you need to excel in this role?

Research shows that (oftentimes) female candidates only apply when they meet 100% of the requirements, while male candidates do so when they meet just 60%. We explicitly encourage everyone to apply: you don’t have to tick every box to apply. We also consider your potential and motivation!

  • A strategic mindset and a proactive, hands-on attitude: you spot what needs doing and make it happen;

  • Strong structuring, synthesis and writing skills, and an eye for clear, well-designed presentations;

  • Experience in strategy, consulting, partnerships, stakeholder engagement, project management, or political and organisational work (volunteer experience counts);

  • Good judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information;

  • Knowledge of Volt, its structures and its people is a big advantage, or the ability to build that understanding quickly;

  • Comfortable thinking along and giving honest feedback;

  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are an advantage.

What are the benefits & advantages

You will work directly with the SPARK Lead and help build something from the ground up: a pan-European network of senior figures and the programmes around it.

You will gain close insight into how such a network is designed, build valuable connections across Volt, and take real ownership of your work in a supportive environment. It is a chance to develop your strategy, presentation and partnership skills on a project with real visibility, with room to grow as SPARK grows.

Time commitment

Approximately 5 to 10 hours per week, remote and flexible, initially for three months, followed by a joint review.

Note: This is a volunteering position.
