Executive Assistant(s) - Volunteer

The Executive Assistant(s) of the EUR Policy Team will play a critical role in supporting the ongoing development of Volt Europa’s policy portfolio and policy platform, and in ensuring effective collaboration between Policy Team members. They will also ensure that the Volt membership is kept informed of the activities of the Policy Team and oversee some of the policy development and editorial processes.

Location: Remote 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all administrative aspects of the work of the EUR Policy Team, including day-to-day management of correspondence, meeting and event coordination, budgeting and accounting, and recruitment.

  • Work with the EUR Policy Leads and Process Leads to establish and ensure the smooth running of all internal policy processes.

  • Coordinate and monitor the work of the Policy Shapers, ensuring that tasks and timelines are clearly communicated and deadlines are met.

  • Work with the EUR Communications and Media Relations Lead(s) to ensure Volt’s membership is kept informed of developments within the EUR Policy Team, including through the drafting and mailing of a regular newsletter.

  • Liaise between the EUR Policy Leads and the Policy Leads of Volt’s national chapters to ensure that Volt’s pan-European vision remains coherent.

  • Support the organisation and coordination of events such as members’ assemblies and citizens’ assemblies to mobilise party members and stakeholders and promote participatory policymaking.

  • Onboard new Policy Team members, ensuring they have access to the necessary tools, platforms and communication channels.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and work effectively in a team environment.

  • Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

  • English language competence at CEFR level C1 or above. (The working language of Volt Europa’s EUR Policy Team is English.)

  • A commitment to upholding principles of diversity and inclusion in all aspects of your work, including the channels through which policy is made.

Desirable:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. political science, public policy, economics, etc.) or equivalent experience.

  • Knowledge of European politics, policy issues and current events.

  • Experience in organising and coordinating events, preferably in a political or advocacy setting.

 

Please note that this is an unpaid volunteering position. Executive Assistants are expected to commit 5-10 hours a week to the role.
