EOO Communications Ambassador (f/m/d)

  • Are you as passionate about Europe as we are?

  • Do you get energised by looking beyond national borders and collaboration across Europe?

  • Do you have what it takes to support Volt's European Officials?

You are invited to apply! It does not matter what the colour of your skin is, which gender you identify with, whether you have a disability, who you love, what you believe in. We believe the power of diversity achieves better results for our society at large. We can only be the inclusive political movement we aspire to be, if we represent different voices and perspectives in our society.

Do you want to contribute to Europe's future?

Volt stands for a united and federal Europe, where everyone has equal opportunities to fulfil their unique potential. We strive to achieve the highest human, environmental, social, and technological development together. We are a pan-European political movement with 300 elected representatives across Europe, including 5 members of the European Parliament, over 30,000 members and hundreds of volunteers who work hard to make our vision a reality.

What does our team do?

The European Officials Office connects and supports Volt Officials at all levels - city, regional, national and European - fostering communication between them, the party, and the European (or national/regional/local) Board. We assist in everything they encounter as a politician, like coordination and liaison, internal and external communication, coaching and training, policy, and other key deliverables. We also ensure collaboration with key teams like policy, communications and tech.

We have received a number of applications of candidates who want to work on policy: please note that this is now what our team does and refer to the Policy Team Vacancies instead.

What will you do?

Our Elected Officials do amazing work all around Europe. It is important that the rest of the Volt membership is aware of this. Your responsibility will be to  facilitate and improve communication and coordination of internal and external communication of Volt’s elected officials. You will also take care of communications of what the EOO offers our EOs.

As EOO Comms Ambassador you will:

  • help collect success stories from our EOs

  • create ideas for internal communication of the EOO

  • collect input from the rest of the EOO team and EOs

  • work closely with the Volt communication team(s)

  • make sure that new EOs are added to the Volt Websites

  • create content for a Volt EOO Information platform (Haiilo) (not the technical part)

  • create a regular news blast for all our Elected Officials and for Volt members e.g. newsletter of EOs successes

What skills do you need to excel in this role?

Research shows that (oftentimes) female candidates only apply when they meet 100% of the requirements, while male candidates do so when they meet just 60%. We explicitly encourage everyone to apply: you don’t have to tick every box to apply. We also consider your potential and motivation!

  • Be a team player and networker;

  • English is the primary working language, and multiple languages is an advantage;

  • A self-starting attitude is helpful

  • (preferably) Experience with or knowledge of (internal) communication

  • We require a commitment of volunteering 5hr / week. Work is entirely remote and can be done anywhere and at your preferred time (completely async)

What do we offer?

This is a volunteering position, so there will be no remuneration.
You will be able though to obtain valuable experience:

  • You will work directly with all of Volts Elected Officials and other relevant party leaders across Europe.

  • You will be exposed to political topics and work in a perfect environment to network with key Volt stakeholders and other partners.

  • You will become a crucial player in turning Volt’s vision into reality and contributing to the exposure and growth of the party.
