Co-Chair of the JDA Implementation Taskforce (f/m/d)

Apply now to become a Co-Chair of the JDA Implementation Taskforce and play a crucial role in shaping Volt Europa’s internal framework on integrity and facilitation concerning the implementation of the Jerusalem Declaration of Antisemitism (JDA) definition.

The General Assembly has decided on the JDA definition, and critically has mandated a Taskforce to guide its application. A definition is only as good as how it is implemented. Your role as Co-Chair, will be to ensure successful and clear implementation of the definition.

This taskforce will prepare guidelines to implement this definition in our integrity bodies and facilitation of dialogue, debate and discussion. It will do so in an inclusive way that respects the sensibilities of everyone, and counters antisemitism.

But what does this mean? This means that the taskforce will seek to understand how this definition can be applied in practice in our organisation to identify and counter antisemitism. It will do so by speaking to a broad scope of stakeholders, but especially to our Jewish members and external progressive Jewish organisations to ensure that their voices are heard and taken into the implementation. In doing so, it will write practical guidelines which will be implemented by our integrity bodies, European community facilitators, EUR Academy facilitators’ pool and Haiilo gardeners.

We believe this implementation process offers a powerful triple opportunity: for genuine internal reconciliation, for countering antisemitism, and for setting an example of how the political conversation about Israel-Palestine can be responsibly managed in wider society.

We are looking for two driven and impartial leaders—one female/diverse and one male/diverse—who can navigate sensitive topics, build consensus, and deliver concrete recommendations within a tight timeframe. You will lead the taskforce responsible for implementing the defined framework, recruiting a pool of contributors, and presenting findings to key internal stakeholders.

Do you want to contribute to Europe's future?

Volt is an inclusive movement that wants to provide space for everyone to thrive. We believe the power of diversity achieves better results for our society at large. We can only be the inclusive political movement we aspire to be, if we represent different voices and perspectives in our society. Your skin colour, gender identity, disabilities, sexual orientation or religious belief do not matter. If you share our values, you are welcome in our organisation and we want to work together with you to create a better Europe for everyone.

What will you do?

We’re looking for two Co-Chair Leads to manage and deliver the Taskforce project (March-May 2026); people who thrive on integrity, impartial analysis, and decisive action.

This role is about implementing the JDA definition regarding integrity and facilitation. You will be responsible for creating an actionable plan, building the team, conducting essential interviews, and presenting final recommendations. You will:

  • Implement the Defined Framework: Ensure the JDA definition regarding integrity and facilitation is fully understood and implemented in our integrity and facilitation guidelines.

  • Build the Team: Successfully build a diverse working team of 2-3 additional people, to serve the needs of the integrity bodies, community/policy facilitators and Haiilo gardeners.

  • Stakeholder Consultation: Conduct interviews with key stakeholders and end users

  • Develop Recommendations: Create clear and concrete recommendations for the implementation of the defined framework.

  • Reach Out: Demonstrate the ability to effectively reach out to and engage with different internal and external stakeholders and end users.

The Taskforce team (which you will recruit) brings together the following capacities :

  • Able to relate to all sides

  • Act with integrity

  • Good listener

  • Impartial

  • A deep understanding of anti-semitism

Final Decision Makers:

Your final recommendations will be developed with and for the following teams: Integrity, Policy, Community (community facilitators, and Haiilo gardeners) and Academy (Facilitators’ pool) and confirmed by the Board of Volt Europa.

What skills do you need to excel in this role?

Research shows that (oftentimes) female candidates only apply when they meet 100% of the requirements, while male candidates do so when they meet just 60%. We explicitly encourage everyone to apply: you don’t have to tick every box to apply. We also consider your potential and motivation!

We’re not looking for a “perfect CV”. We’re looking for a person who embodies integrity, impartiality, and strategic delivery.

You might be the right person if you:

  • Are familiar with the definitions (JDA/IHRA) central to the task force's mission.

  • Possess exceptional interviewing and listening skills to conduct sensitive key stakeholder consultations.

  • Demonstrate the ability to be impartial and act with the highest level of integrity.

  • Have experience building and leading diverse, small teams to deliver a clear, time-bound result.

  • Are proactive, curious and capable of structuring your own work and the taskforce’s process.

  • Are comfortable working in an international, multilingual and remote work environment.

  • Above all: you care deeply about ensuring fairness and clear guidelines are in place within a political movement.

What requirements do we ask for this role?

  • Passion for combatting antisemitism: You are excited about contributing to Volt’s mission and values, have a keen interest in combatting antisemitism.

  • Volunteer setting: You have experience working with volunteers, and you love to help Volt navigate these turbulent waters. Even in an online environment, you know how to keep people engaged.

  • Commitment: We require a commitment to volunteer for 3 months between 5 and 10 hours per week. The work can be done anywhere with an internet connection and at any preferred time (completely async).

What do we offer?

  • A member driven, task that can be accomplished in 3 months

  • A dynamic environment where no day is the same and no challenge is too big for you and the other volunteers you provide leadership to

  • A flexible, remote work environment where you will collaborate with passionate, like-minded individuals from across Europe

  • Short decision-making processes, flat hierarchies and room to implement your ideas

  • The opportunity to shape the implementation of Volt’s Code of Conduct as a model for real impact on European society and politics
