Intern Supervision Team Member (m/f/d)
Are you passionate about guiding the next generation of pan-European political talent? Are you experienced in administrative HR workflows while remaining highly people-oriented? Do you have the interpersonal skills required to mentor interns? Then apply now to join Volt Europa’s HR Operations as an Intern Supervision Team Member and help shape a supportive, efficient environment for our interns!
Do you want to contribute to Europe's future?
Volt stands for a united and federal Europe, where everyone has equal opportunities to fulfil their unique potential. We strive to achieve the highest human, environmental, social, and technological development together. We are a pan-European political movement with 200 elected representatives across Europe, including 5 members of the European Parliament, over 30,000 members and hundreds of volunteers who work hard to make our vision a reality.
Volt is an inclusive movement that wants to provide space for everyone to thrive. We believe the power of diversity achieves better results for our society at large. We can only be the inclusive political movement we aspire to be, if we represent different voices and perspectives in our society. Your skin colour, gender identity, disabilities, sexual orientation or religious belief do not matter. You are welcome in our organisation, and we want to work together with you to create a better Europe for everyone.
What will you do?
As an Intern Supervision Team Member, you will act as a mentor, supervisor, and guide for Volt Europa interns, ensuring they feel supported and valued. You will:
Drive Recruitment & Onboarding: Partner with HR Leadership, Hiring Managers, and EUR Comms to recruit interns. Coordinate closely with the Treasury team to execute contracts, set up payroll, and warmly welcome new interns into the organization.
Manage Administration & Off-boarding: Support interns with administrative needs, specifically processing expense reimbursements (e.g., travel). Conduct a structured off-boarding process when their internship concludes.
Provide Ongoing Support: Host and manage a mandatory monthly check-in for all interns on the second Monday of each month from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM CET.
Facilitate 1-on-1 Mentorship: Send monthly check-in communications to all interns to offer 1-on-1 conversations, ensuring they have a secure space to bring forward any roadblocks or issues.
What skills do you need to excel in this role?
Research shows that (oftentimes) female candidates only apply when they meet 100% of the requirements, while male candidates do so when they meet just 60%. We explicitly encourage everyone to apply: you don’t have to tick every box to apply. We also consider your potential and motivation!
Administrative precision: You are detail-oriented and capable of navigating operational workflows, specifically regarding contracting, payroll setup, and financial reimbursements.
Strong mentorship & empathy: You are highly people-oriented. You know how to guide junior staff, resolve conflicts, and maintain accountability while ensuring interns feel heard and supported.
Stakeholder management: You are open and approachable and have experience liaising with different teams (e.g., Treasury, Hiring Managers). You work well with people from different backgrounds.
Independent & proactive: As we work remotely, you are a self-starter who takes initiative, anticipates administrative bottlenecks, and proactively develops solutions.
What requirements do we ask for this role?
Volt Membership: You must be an active member of Volt Europa.
Language proficiency: Full professional proficiency in English.
Availability: Capacity to commit 10–15 hours per month.
Remote capability: Ability to work 100% remotely within digital workspaces.
Nice to have
Previous HR operations experience: Familiarity with digital HR tools, shared drives, and handling sensitive personnel information.
Volunteer management: Experience mentoring or managing young professionals in paid and unpaid positions across our digital ecosystems.
What do we offer?
A flexible, remote volunteer environment where you will collaborate with passionate, like-minded individuals from across Europe.
The opportunity to directly impact the professional growth and operational efficiency of Volt’s intern program.
Short decision-making processes, flat hierarchies, and lots of room to implement your ideas for improving the intern life cycle.
