The vision of the EUR Community Team is “to build a European society of dignity, equality and fairness by guiding our community members to yearn to fulfil their vast potential and contribute it towards our shared future”. One of our tasks to make this possible is to empower individuals to be open to different perspectives from people with different backgrounds.  

What will you do? 

The task of the EUR Community team is to connect our members across Europe and inspire them to work on our shared future together. Together with a team, you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Build a Voices of Volt project, by holding and publishing interviews with Volters to improve listening and understanding of different points of view; 

  • Coming up with initiatives to promote and increase the diversity of the Volt Europa movement. 

  • Coordinate and facilitate different European diversity communities, such as Women of Volt, Queer Volt, Non-Academic, Disabilities, across Volt and help them be more impactful and be inclusive of national diversity communities. 

What skills do you need to excel in this role?

Research shows that (oftentimes) female candidates only apply when they meet 100% of the requirements, while male candidates do so when they meet just 60%. We explicitly encourage everyone to apply: you don’t have to tick every box to apply. We also consider your potential and motivation!

A suitable candidate: 

  • Has a proactive personality to reach out to people and communicate the value of harmonised approaches across Europe and leading the relevant initiatives; 

  • Has community organising skills, the ability to keep a clear overview of what is happening and what needs to be done amidst a multifaceted environment; 

  • Takes responsibility and assuming decisions based on inclusive community standards; 

  • Is a good communicator, including being a good listener; 

  • Actively works to include fairness, inclusions and integrity in everyday work. 

What requirements do we ask for this role

  • Proven interest in transnational events, initiatives, or organisations 

  • Adequate level of English language skills

Nice to have: 

  • Experience within the Volt community 

  • Experience with community building and/or facilitating community building events 

  • Experience with international work (in HR settings)

Please note that this role is a volunteer position. As such, the amount of hours worked per week is flexible and open to your availability.
