Join us for an exclusive half-day getaway across the border to visit a Hungary freshly reshaped by a political earthquake. We will explore the charming, historical streets of the Hungarian town of Mosonmagyaróvár! We plan to visit the Óvár Castle museum, a historical fortress, with its picturesque courtyards, and the Castle Lake. We will step back in time to uncover the rich heritage of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and learn about what lessons the history of the “old monarchy” holds for the modern-day European Union. Then, in a classic local café, we will dive into gripping conversations about the secrets of the Orbán system, the 2026 Hungarian elections which led to the end of the Orbán-era, and what the future holds for a Post-Orbán Hungary.

📍Devín pier - Slovanské nábrežie, 841 10 Devín

Want to slow down and experience one of the most symbolic historical and natural site around Bratislava? Join us for a relaxed pre-GA afternoon trip to Devín Castle, where the Danube meets the Morava river at the Slovak–Austrian border. We meet at 11:30 at Devín pier, where everyone arriving by bus or boat will gather before continuing together. From the pier, we continue with a short walk along once a closed border with Austria, today a symbol of open Europe. On the way, we pass memorials and stop at the Brána slobody (“Gate of Freedom”), commemorating those who lost their lives trying to cross the Iron Curtain, before continuing to Devín Castle. After the visit, we can stay for drinks or food at nearby restaurants under the castle before returning to the city.

Please note: Transportation to the meeting point is arranged individually, as is entry to Devín Castle. You will find all information in the form below. Please register so we can coordinate logistics and group arrival. Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.

The popular role-playing game where you can try your hand at being a Member of the European Parliament!
Play together with your group! Participants are divided into fictional political groups and take on the role of a Member of the European Parliament. They form alliances, negotiate with one another, and listen to different opinions to reach a consensus - just as EU lawmakers do. By discussing current issues, participants gain firsthand experience of how decisions are made at the EU level, how these decisions affect the lives of EU citizens, and how European democracy works. Join a relaxed, city walk led by fellow Volters from the local chapter who know the city and its hidden corners. Whether you’re coming straight from the cruise or already in Bratislava, this is the perfect way to explore, connect, and get your bearings before the GA begins. We will visit the old town not missing biggest landmarks, walk to castle, pariliament, and finish back in the old town.

Bratislava isn’t just about politics. It’s also about incredible scenic views! The perfect warm-up, located at the doorstep of NTC (the GA venue). We’ll be running around the city's sports district where football and hockey stadiums are located, passing by basketball arena and return to JAMA leisure space, where your supporters and children can wait and play while you will be running! Showers will be available at the NTC, so you can freshen up and head straight to the GA opening. See you at the starting line! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
