Policy Coordination Lead (f/m/d)

What will you be doing?
As a member of the Policy Coordination Team, you will guide Volt Europa's policy-development processes and the practical infrastructure that supports them from initiation to adoption. Depending on your skills and interests, you may:
coordinate Volt Europa's policy processes from initiation to adoption.
communicate participation opportunities, deadlines, milestones, votes, decisions and adopted changes, with timely updates and clear handovers.
ensure Political Statements align with adopted policy and involve relevant European Communities when new policy is proposed.
advise the Political Team on which Electoral Policy Programme priorities to highlight in the Electoral Campaign Programme.
lead the Policy Quality Review Team, host its biweekly meetings and allocate reviews.
host the monthly Policy Coordination and Quality Review Network meeting and coordinate policy questions across Volt.
facilitate knowledge exchange and annual retreats for European Community Core Teams with the Community Team.
act as functional owner of the Policy Management System and coordinate its development and maintenance with the Tech Team.
coordinate joint work and clarify responsibilities with the EP Team, Political Team and other relevant Functional Teams.
develop and deliver training with Volt Academy for policy-process participants, Policy Quality Review Teams, European election candidates and other users of the Electoral Policy Programme.
coordinate funding needs, approvals, expenditure and reporting with the Treasurer for policy processes, training, tools, meetings and retreats.
join regular Policy Coordination Team meetings.
What skills do you need to excel in this role?

build constructive relationships and connect volunteers, experts, Communities, reviewers and decision-makers with different perspectives and availability.
explain processes and expectations clearly, document decisions and ensure people receive the right information at the right time.
facilitate inclusive discussion, recognise process or integrity concerns and know when to seek advice, mediation or formal escalation.
understand how an idea becomes a structured, evidence-based policy proposal and guide others without taking over their substantive work.
take initiative, follow up on actions and work effectively in a remote, volunteer-led environment.
What requirements do we ask for this role?
For this role, you:
have English proficiency at CEFR level C1 or above; English is the working language of Volt Europa's policy teams.
have strong organisational, interpersonal and written communication skills and can manage tasks, stakeholders and deadlines systematically.
are interested in European politics, policy development and current affairs and willing to learn Volt's Policy Infrastructure in depth.
can volunteer approximately 5-10 hours per week remotely; the work is largely asynchronous. Online meetings are scheduled based on the wider team's availability and may take place during working hours or in the evening.
are a Member of Volt Europa.

Nice to have
It would be helpful if you have:
experience coordinating projects, processes or volunteer teams in a political, policy, advocacy or civic setting.
experience supporting policy development, stakeholder engagement or participatory processes.
knowledge of Volt Europa's structures, policy portfolio, European Communities or Policy Infrastructure.
experience facilitating difficult conversations, managing conflicts of interest or resolving process disputes.
additional European language skills.
