Join Volt Europa’s Integrity Commission
Volt is looking for thoughtful, fair-minded, and independent volunteers to join the Integrity Commission, the body responsible for promoting ethical standards, processing complaints, and helping uphold trust, safety, and accountability across the association.
The Commission handles reports of undesirable behaviour and related integrity concerns, and it works to ensure a safe environment for members while supporting fair, timely, and impartial processes.
What you’ll do
As an Integrity Commissioner, you will help promote ethical behaviour and handle complaints in a fair, confidential, and impartial way. This includes assessing reports, supporting investigations, advising on findings, and recommending appropriate next steps in line with Volt’s integrity framework.
You may contribute to:
Develop and execute strategies to raise awareness of Volt’s integrity system
Leading and executing investigation of potential breaches of the European Code of Conduct, incl. conducting interviews, review of documents and creation of investigation reports
Advising the Board on findings and possible disciplinary measures.
Working with various stakeholders in the Integrity System of Volt
Support in the continuous improvement of investigations procedures
Who we’re looking for
This role is for people who are calm under pressure, analytically strong, and committed to independence, discretion, and due process. Integrity Commissioners are expected to exercise independent judgment, avoid conflicts of interest, and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and fairness.
Archetype-wise, this is someone like a steady guardian: composed, trusted, impartial, and able to hold space for difficult situations while keeping the process fair and confidential.
Strong candidates will bring:
The ability to assess sensitive situations fairly and objectively.
Strong discretion and respect for confidentiality.
Careful judgment in handling allegations, evidence, and competing perspectives.
The confidence to act independently in sensitive and sometimes high-stakes matters.
A constructive, calm, and respectful approach to conflict and misconduct concerns.
Speaker of languages other than English and German.
Hard requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Be an Individual Member of Volt Europa.
Not hold another function within the organisation unless this has been approved by the Board.
Be prepared to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with the Commission’s procedures.
Be prepared to serve long-term but at least for a minimum of 1 year.
In addition, the Commission is composed of at least four members, including two diverse and representative Co-Leads appointed by the Board, currently we have two commissioners reappointed for their second term.
The working language of the commission is English, and members may be asked to act in urgent or sensitive proceedings, including cases requiring quick assessment or immediate safeguarding measures.
